Inaugurated two solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of 875 MW, demonstrating a tangible commitment to renewable energy and a move away from fossil fuels. These projects represent a significant stride towards Qatar's renewable energy targets, reducing carbon footprint, and diversifying its energy sources.
The addition of 875 megawatts from these two new solar plants, along with the 800 megawatts produced by the Al Kharsaah plant that came into service in 2022, will bring Qatar's total solar energy production capacity to nearly 1,700 megawatts.
