The subsidy aims to accelerate the nation's solar capacity, in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030. For residential users, subsidies can cover up to 30% of installation costs, depending on the system capacity and building type. Commercial and industrial users can access higher caps if their projects meet energy efficiency benchmarks.
As part of the Support Package announced in June 2022, every Singaporean household living in a residential property in Singapore received a $100 Household Utilities Credit to help offset utility bills. The top-up was directly disbursed to the eligible households' SP Group utilities accounts in September 2022.
Singapore's First Utility-scale Energy Storage System Through a partnership between EMA and SP Group, Singapore deployed its first utility-scale ESS at a substation in Oct 2020. It has a capacity of 2.4 megawatts (MW)/2.4 megawatt-hour (MWh), which is equivalent to powering more than 200 four-room HDB households a day.
