LONGi has once again announced a new efficiency record for its proprietary dual terminal perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell - 34.85%, certified by the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). LONGi's research team is on a roll. In November 2023, they i ncreased cell efficiency to 33.9%. Then, in June 2024, they pushed it up to 34.6%.
LONGi plans to integrate solar power plants with pumped storage in areas that feature significant elevation differences and abundant sunlight, creating an industrial model for using solar. On its website, LONGi states that "the LONGi R&D team has achieved successive breakthroughs in key technologies.
The company said the 2,382 mm x 1,134 mm module offers 25.9% efficiency and 700 W power output, with a power density of 259 W/m². The temperature coefficient is -0.24%/C. Longi said the cells are manufactured using both low- and high-temperature passivation on the front side.
