POLICY. In accordance with References (f), it is DoD policy that: Installation energy management shall satisfy all goals and policies established by References (b) through (e), and in accordance with sections 8251 et seq. and 6361 et seq. of Title 42, United States Code (Reference (g)).
Management and Administration. Energy management on DoD installations focuses on improving efficiency, eliminating waste, and enhancing the quality of life while meeting mission requirements. Accomplishing these objectives will reduce costs and ensure that the program goals are achieved.
The DoD Components shall encourage participation in the EnergyStar® building program, developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which promotes energy efficiency in buildings and requires measured building data and a comparison with archetypes in various regions of the country.
